Bayliss calls it quits…again

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Three-time World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss came out of retirement to replace injured Ducati rider Davide Giugliano for the first two rounds of the 2015 season. But after WSBK’s two races in Thailand, in which he finished eighth and 11th, respectively, the 45-year-old Australian announced his permanent retirement from WSBK competition.

“I’ve had a great time,” Bayliss said. “I didn’t expect to win, it was great to experience it all again but I’ve had my time so I am happy to go home and enjoy my family, and leave it to the young guys.”

Whether Giugliano will be fit to participate in WSBK’s Aragon round on April 12 is not yet known.
