Rae Doubles at Assen WSBK

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Ireland’s Jonathan Rea (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda) won both races of the WSBK championship 4th round at Assen in the Netherlands today. Both races saw an all UK podium; James Toseland (Yamaha Sterilgarda)and Leon Camier (Aprilia Alitalia) joined Rae in one, while points leader Leon Haslam (Suzuki Alstare) beat Toseland for second in race two.

BMW rider Troy Corser, who qualified 3rd (a best ever Superpole for BMW) and lead for a time in each race, finished fifth in both.

Aprilia Alitalia’s Max Biaggi placed 6th in race one and fourth in number two, putting him 20 points behind Haslam who leads with 148, while Rae, after his double this weekend, has moved into 3rd spot overall with 110 points.

So far this year Suzuki, Ducati, Aprilia and now Honda machines have all won races in WSBK.

The next round takes place May 9th at Monza, Italy.
