Dakar Rally 2010: Manca in ICU After Crash

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

So much for good karma working in your favour. Italian KTM rider Luca Manca, who yesterday generously lent his rear wheel to defending Dakar champion Marc Coma, today lies in hospital in critical condition after falling of his bike and sustaining serious head injuries during the sixth stage of the Dakar Rally. Coma on the other hand, had a good outing, winning the stage 10 minutes and 34 seconds ahead of leader Cyril Despres and moving from 8th position into 4th overall. Top BMW rider Paulo Goncalves’ rally also ended on the 7th day, after he crashed and broke his collar bone.

Canadian Patrick Trahan finished in 54th position, 1:52:12 behind Coma, moving from 76th to 65th overall.
