Flat Track Canada hits the road for Round 3 in Leamington

By Posted on

After a one month hiatus, the Flat Track Canada series presented by Parts Canada returns to action on July 6th. With the last round taking place on the short track in Welland Ontario, riders will once again get to stretch the legs on their machines as round three is set to take place at the beautiful half mile in Leamington.

Long considered one of the nicest cushion tracks in Canada, fans can expect to see riders three and four wide in the corners as they battle for their share of the prize money. With many different lines available in the turns, there will be a multitude of lead changes each race as riders swap positions in the corners, while many times ending up side by side again on the straights.

Dustin Brown, the 2018 Open Expert Champion, has set the stage for a repeat this season as he has already won the first two rounds in 2019. While Brown has to be considered a favourite in round three, those looking to dethrone the champ will be looking to charge to the front of the pack on Saturday in hopes of making up some points in the title chase. Others to keep an eye on in the Expert class include Tyler Seguin, Chris Evans, Dave Pouliot and hometown boys Brodie Buchan and Trent Pickle who both took part in the AFT round in Lima Ontario. With the close proximity to the U.S. border, it is not unusual for some speedsters from the states to stop by and try their luck at grabbing the checkered flag.

As well as the Experts there will be a full range of classes and fans should keep an eye on local rider Jarrett Phibbs in the Intermediate division as cushion half mile tracks fall right into his wheelhouse.

With another half mile scheduled at the end of the month at Flamboro Downs, Saturday in Leamington riders will be looking to get a little momentum rolling as the series heads into the heat of the summer.

Saturday sees heat races starting at 5:00 with features starting at 7:00. For more information please visit flattrackcanada.com
