Ducati’s partnership with fashion design company Italia Independent, headed by Fiat heir Lapo Elkann, has borne its first fruit in the form of the limited edition (1,077 unites to be made) Scrambler Italia Independent model.
This Scrambler gets the café racer treatment with a ribbed seat, low handlebar, and bar-end mirrors. It also gets a small fairing around its headlight and offset instrument nacelle. Styling is decidedly muted, with blacked-out engine and Termignoni exhaust, and matte black bodywork. Copper-coloured wheels and frame provide some contrast, as does its dark brown tank.
“Lapo Elkann and his team of creative designers have brought a breathe of fresh air and creativity to Ducati,” says Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali, “and we are sure that this will be the start of an exciting partnership.”
