Agility Global unveils Saietta R at clean tech conference
The UK’s Daily Mail reports that London-based Agility Global has taken its electric show on the road, shipping its Saietta R electric motorcycle across the pond to participate in the “clean and cool” technology conference in Colorado. Agility’s goal at the conference is to increase interest and investment from North America’s lucrative powersports sector.
Agility’s website describes the Saietta R as a “muscular and aggressive, next generation electric urban sport motorcycle.” The bike uses a high torque axial flux permanent magnet DC motor, and Agility claims the Saietta R can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just four seconds. Throttle response can be personalized to the rider’s preference, while the lithium-ion battery is said to have a range of 193 km in the city, 94 km on the highway, or 120 km combining both.
Getting the general public to buy into electric motorcycles remains a tough sell, and the Saietta R’s somewhat outlandish styling may hamper widespread appeal. Regardless, it’s not available here yet, and with California-based Zero Motorcycles already established as an electric motorcycle producer in North America, it remains to be seen whether the Saietta R will ever impact the North American market in an appreciable way.
