Quebec firm unveils electric street fighting, café racing bobber

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Quebec firm Lito Green Motion (LGM) has created a new motorcyle that it’s calling a bobber-café racer-street fighter-style electric superbike. The Sora is the first production electric motorcycle made in Canada, and according to the company’s website, the bike will be shown in public for the first time at the Montreal F1 Grand Prix weekend, June 10 – 12.

Powered by liquid-cooled, three-phase AC induction motor, fuelled by 12 kWh lithium polymer battery, the Sora claims 59 lb-ft of torque at the crank and a top speed of 200 km/h. LGM says you’ll be able to ride the Sora 300 km on a single charge, though makes no mention of average speed in relation to that figure. We’re guessing it’s achievable by using the machine’s “safe range” riding mode, a setting that uses the bike’s integrated GPS to help control power consumption and ensure you reach the destination that you’ve inputted via the Sora’s touch screen display. There are also eco and performance modes to choose from. Other features include a continuously variable transmission (CVT),  “high-end” suspension and brake components, and an electronically adjustable seat allowing you to raise or lower the saddle at the touch of a button.

The Sora weighs in at a somewhat hefty 240 kg and brings with it a very hefty price tag of $42,399 (Perhaps LGM knows of some wealthy streetfighter-lovin’ Green Party members). Deliveries are said to begin this October.
