MV Agusta Canada has added another model to its 2011 lineup, the Brutale 1090R, bringing the total number of MV bikes currently available in Canada to four. Powered by the same 1078cc, 144 hp (claimed) in-line four as the top-of-the-line naked Brutale 1090RR, the new model is slightly smaller and lower spec than its double R sibling. And at $16,995 it’s also $2000 cheaper. The 1090R lacks the RR’s slipper clutch and race oriented suspension and brakes, and has a steel trellis frame instead of chromoly, but the biggest difference comes in overall size. Both machines weigh in at 190 kg (dry), but the 1090R’s package is more compact: wheelbase at 1430 mm is shorter by 8, overall length is down 48 mm to 2045, saddle height lessened by 5 mm to 825 and ground clearance lowered by 10 mm to 140. MV also points out that the new model comes with a newly designed seat, adding greater comfort.
The Brutale 1090R comes finished in black or white and will be available at Canadian MV Agusta Dealerships by the end of May.
