H-D Rolls Out the Sportster 1200 Custom for 2011

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Harley-Davidson has introduced  a new mid-year addition to their 2011 model line-up. The 1200 Custom is “a Sportster model with phattitude,” says Harley, featuring a wide front end and chunky 16-inch tires. Powered by H-D’s Air-cooled Evolution 1,200 cc fuel injected V-Twin, the 1200 Custom also sees the addition of five-spoke cast aluminium wheels front and rear, a headlamp eyebrow and a smaller LED tail light. The fork has been widened and suspension rates re-tuned to match the new fatter tire/wheel combination.

Coinciding with the release of the 1200 Custom from the American manufacturer is the debut of H-D1 Factory Customization — a program that allows customers to modify their new purchase by choosing from seven option categories: wheels, handlebars, foot pegs, seat, paint/graphics, engine finish and security. The H-D1 Factory Customization tool is available online at www.harleycanada.com/hd1bikebuilder. Making any changes will add to the 1200 Custom’s  $11,389 base sticker price of course.

Harley-Davidson’s 1200 Custom will be on display in Canada for the first time this weekend, February 4-6, at the Quebec City Motorcycle Show.
