Honda’s CB1000R Coming to Canada

By Cycle CanadaPosted on

Honda has announced that the CB1000R, their successful naked European roadster powered by a detuned superbike motor, will be coming to Canada for spring 2011. Designed and built in Italy and unveiled at EICMA 3 years ago, the CB1000R weighs in at 222 kg (wet) and  uses an aluminum backbone frame to cradle a detuned previous generation CBR1000RR powerplant (998 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, inline-4) claiming 124 hp and 74lb/ft of torque. According to Honda the engine is set up for “dynamic low-to-midrange performance”. Suspension is fully adjustable at both wheels and features a 43 mm USD fork and a cast aluminium monoshock joined to a single sided swingarm. Combined-ABS is standard and features 3-piston calipers squeezing 310 mm discs on the front wheel and a dual piston caliper working on a rear 256 mm disc.

Pricing details are yet to be announced. We’ll let you know as soon as we get more details.
