MotoGP: Lorenzo Dominates Silverstone

Jorge Lorenzo (Fiat Yamaha) converted his pole position to victory in dominant fashion during the AirAsia British Grand Prix at Silverstone today. The Spaniard finished 6.743sec ahead of Reposol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso and led by us much as 8 seconds for part of  the race. Rookie Ben Spies (Monster Yamaha Tech 3 ) battled to the first MotoGP podium of his career by edging out fellow American Nicky Hayden (Ducati Marlboro) for third place by just 0.214 seconds.  

Lorenzo’s third win in 5 races increases his championship lead to 37 points, a feat he acknowledged by dressing up as one of the Beatles and joining three others in a ‘St. Pepper’ themed celebration after today’s race.
